Tigers versus Morehead State on ESPN-U

Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University men's basketball team will begin a conference two-game road game swing making their first stop in Morehead, Ky. to face the Eagles of Morehead State.

The Tigers (6-13, 4-5 OVC) defeated the Eagles (11-10, 7-2 OVC) earlier this month  (1/05/09) in the Gentry Center, 71-64.

The game will be nationally televised on ESPNU with tip-off scheduled for 8 p.m. (CT). Fans can also tune in for the play-by-play on the Big Blue Sports Network (WVOL-1470 AM, WMRB-910 AM, WOJG-94.7 FM).

The Tigers will look to bounce back, coming off a 86-78 conference loss to Tennessee Tech last Saturday. Gerald Robinson, Jr. (17.8 ppg) and Jerrell Houston (13.6 ppg, 6.8 rpg) lead TSU in scoring and will look to repeat their performance from the season's previous meeting. Robinson scored a team-high 19 points and Houston chipped in 14 points in the win.

The Eagles own the series, 26-23, and are on a two-game win streak winning five of their last seven games. Last Saturday, MOR picked up a 68-64 conference win against Eastern Kentucky and are currently ranked second in the Ohio Valley Conference standings.

Four Eagles average in double-digits, Leon Buchanan (13.7 ppg), Kenneth Faried (12.6 ppg), Maze Stallworth (11.8 ppg) and Demonte Harper (11.0 ppg) lead a team that is 7-1 at the Ellis T. Johnson Arena.

TSU will face Eastern Kentucky next in Richmond, Ky. on Saturday, January 31. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
