Tigers Face Yellow Jackets in Atlanta 

Nashville, Tenn. - After a gallant comeback attempt, the Tigers will look to harness their efforts versus Marshall when they face Georgia Tech. Game time is scheduled for Dec. 30th at 7:00 p.m. inside the Alexander Memorial Coliseum.

This will be the third meeting between the two teams with the Yellow Jackets leading the series 2-0. Last season (11/11/07), Georgia Tech defeated TSU inside the Gentry Center, 99-85.

The Tigers (3-8) have loss four straight and are 1-6 on the road. Gerald Robinson, Jr. leads the Tigers averaging 19.5 points and five assists per game. Robinson has scored over 20 points in the Tigers last two games. He scored 25 points against Kentucky and a game-high 21 points versus Marshall.

Three Tigers on the roster are natives of the Atlanta-Metro area and will be returning home. Stephen Evans, Lonnie Funderburke and Parker Smith played high school basketball in surrounding counties.

Evans (Campbell High) is averaging 7.6 points and six rebounds per game. Smith (Chestatee High) is averaging 6.9 points per game while shooting 32 percent from behind the arc. Funderburke (Central Gwinnett) is shooting 44 percent from the field.

Georgia Tech (7-4) is on a two-game losing streak, including an ACC double-overtime loss to Virginia. The Yellow Jackets are led by Lewis Clinch (18.3 ppg) and Gani Lawal (17.1 ppg).

Next up, the Tigers will resume conference play when they host Eastern Kentucky on Saturday, Jan. 3rd. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
