NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State ran into a hot shooting Murray State team as the Racers clinched the Ohio Valley Conference regular season title with a 77-52 victory over the Tigers Thursday night. The Tigers saw MSU shoot 56 percent (31-55) from the floor overall and 8-16 from 3-point range to improve to 19-5 overall and 16-2 in the OVC. The Tigers, who had entered the game with a pair of consecutive 50 percent field goal shooting games, converted just 35 percent (19-54) in falling to 10-14 and 9-9. Murray State had three players in double digit scoring, all off the bench. Trey Pearson connected on his first 3-point field goals and finished with 15 points. Tyrler Holloway and Issian Redding added 14 points each. Wayne Arnold led the Tigers with a game-high 23 points. Clarence Matthews posted his eighth double-double of the season with 11 points and 13 rebounds. TSU trailed 38-22 at halftime and could not cut the deficit to under 14 points in the second half.
