CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. --- Tennessee State saw host Austin Peay score the game's final seven points to pull away from a 63-63 tie in the final two minutes to defeat the Tigers 70-63 in Ohio Valley Conference play Saturday night. The Tigers had fought back from a 44-33 deficit at the 16:39 mark to take the lead at 57-54 with 7:05 remaining in the game. TSU led by as many as three (61-58) as late as the 4:13 mark after a Wayne Arnold layup. Arnold's jump shot with 2:06 proved to be the Tigers final points of the game that tied the score at 63-63. The Govs took the lead for good following a Zac Schlader layup with 1:47 remaining. The Govs sealed the game by making 5-of-6 free throws. TSU was led by Kareem Grant with 19 points. Arnold scored 15 and Clarence Matthews posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Govs were led by Maurice Hampton's 20 points. Schlader finished with 11 points and Duncan added 10. The Tigers shot 45 percent (25-56) while Austin Peay shot 53 percent (24-45).
