CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. --- Tennessee State suffered through a 29 percent field goal shooting night as host Austin Peay was able to defeat the Tigers 69-51 in Ohio Valley Conference play Thursday night.
The Tigers trailed 27-21 at halftime, but Austin Peay came out of the locker room to score 13 unanswered points to start the second half. The Tigers went 5:08 without scoring a point until Jeremy Jackson hit a 3-point field goal to make the score 40-24 at the 14:52 mark.
TSU (9-12, 4-3) finished the game shooting 18-61 from the field and 4-21 from 3-point range. Eric King came off the bench to be TSU's only player in double figure scoring with 15 points.
Austin Peay (7-13, 5-3) was 25-52 from the field for 48 percent. Anthony Davis led a trio of APSU players in double figures with 22 points.
TSU plays at Tennessee Tech Saturday night.
