NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State freshman basketball player Reiley Ervin has been named Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week for his performances in two Tiger victories this past week. Ervin earned the honor after coming off the bench to score 16 of his career-high 18 points to help spark the Tigers in their 105-101 double overtime win against Southeast Missouri last Thursday. He followed Thursday's game with a start against Eastern Illinois, scoring 10 points. Ervin also recorded 10 assists and five steals in the two contests. A 5-10, 160-pound point guard from Memphis, Ervin helped lead White Station High to three consecutive Tennessee Class AAA state titles. He was named MVP of last season's state tournament. Ervin joins teammates Rod Flowers (Player, Newcomer) and Bruce Price (Player) who have received weekly awards from the OVC thus far this season.
