NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State basketball team will play the first of two exhibition games over a three-day span when the Tigers take the court Tuesday night. TSU will host Brescia College of Owensboro, Ky. at 7 p.m. in the Gentry Center. Coach Cy Alexander is set to begin his second season at the Tigers' helm and has key returnees along with key newcomers on the roster this season. The Tigers proved to be the Ohio Valley Conference's most improved team last season, improving from 0-16 in the OVC to 6-10 and a berth in the post-season tournament. Senior Roshaun Bowens is a second-team All-OVC preseason pick while sophomore guard Bruce Price was the OVC Freshman of the Year last season, and is a first-team All-OVC preseason pick. Bresica College is an NAIA team and has averaged 19 wins a season under coach John Reilly, who enters his 12th season at the helm. The Tigers will be back in action Thursday night in their second exhibition game, hosting VASDA. TSU will have the Blue-White game on Saturday.
