NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State and nearby Fisk University renew their basketball series as the Bulldogs make the short trip to Gentry Center for a game Thursday. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. The game will be TSU's third home game of the early season and their final game in the Gentry Center until Dec. 30. The Tigers are 1-2 on the season, losing a tough 93-86 decision to Southern Conference power Chattanooga on Monday night. First-year TSU Head Coach Cy Alexander has several members on the team from last year's squad that absorbed a 69-65 loss to the Bulldogs. Junior forward Roshaun Bowens is coming off a career-high 31-point performance in the Chattanooga game. Bowens converted 13-of-14 field goals in the contest. Bowens now averages 20.0 points a game to lead TSU, Freshman Bruce Price, who was awarded OVC Newcomer of the Week Honors, is at 15.7 ppg while senior Garrett Richardson is at 14.7 ppg. The trio currently accounts for 70 percent of TSU's scoring after three games. Fisk will bring a 1-4 record into Gentry Center. The Bulldogs were defeated by Oakwood 86-76 on Tuesday night.
