NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State claimed an important Ohio Valley Conference victory Thursday night and snapped a six-game losing streak with a 75-68 victory over Eastern Illinois. TSU junior Jeremy Jackson scored a career-high 23 points, 16 coming in the first half. The Tigers led 32-27 at halftime and held their largest lead at 66-53 with less than four minutes remaining. The Tigers connected on 26-of-50 field goals for 52 percent, their best shooting night since a win over Jacksonville State in the conference opener. Roshaun Bowens scored 18 points, 15 in the second half. Bruce Price finished with 15. Eastern Illinois had entered the contest with two straight wins. The Tigers held the Panthers to 4-of-19 from 3-point range and 44 percent for the game. Jesse MacKinson led EIU with 19 points. TSU closes the home portion of its schedule Saturday against Southeast Missouri.
