Justin Roberts
This marks the third stint for Roberts with the Big Blue, serving as defensive line coach from 2006 through 2009 and as co-defensive coordinator from 2011 to 2014. The Tigers ranked among the top 15 nationally in FCS total defense in both 2013 and 2014 and led the Ohio Valley three years in a row.

Prior to his return to TSU, Roberts spent three seasons with Sam Houston State University. He joined the Bearkats staff as a defensive line coach prior to the 2016 season before being elevated to Assistant Head Coach.

With Roberts, SHSU finished 12-1 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs. After his second stay at TSU and prior to Sam Houston, Roberts served as defensive line coach at Southern Mississippi, helping direct the Golden Eagles to a 9-4 record in 2015.

Roberts began his collegiate coaching career at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (1997-99) and also made stops at Oklahoma State (2000-01 and 2004), North Carolina (2002-2003) and Texas A&M-Commerce (2005-06).In 2003, he worked as a defensive coach for the Blue-Gray All-Star Classic.

Before making the jump to the college ranks, Roberts served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and as the assistant offensive line coach in 1997 at Hickman High School in Columbia, Mo.

Roberts also spent two seasons at Western Carolina as the school's defensive line coach before taking over coaching responsibilities for the linebackers between his first two TSU appointments.

The Hannibal, Mo., native played his collegiate career as a center at Missouri Southern State. He was a two-year letterman and helped lead the team to the 1993 MIAA conference championship. He earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice administration from Missouri Southern in 1996
