Croft Named OVC Newcomer of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. --- Demry Croft earned Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week honors for his efforts at Eastern Illinois.

Croft helped the Tigers erase a 24-3 deficit and outscore Eastern Illinois 38-16 over the final two and a half quarters. The quarterback completed 14-of-20 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns. Croft also added 56 yards on eight carries.

The transfer signal caller hit Treon Harris for a 30 yard scoring pass to bring the Tigers within five points midway through the third quarter. Croft continued the comeback when he hit DeVon Johnson for 49 yards, giving TSU their first lead of the game with a little over seven minutes to play.

This marks the second time a tiger has been honored by the OVC this season. Antonio Zita was named co-Specialist of the Week after his performance against Bethune-Cookman.
