Tigers to Play Two Games on OVC's Game of the Week Package

NASHVILLE – Two Tennessee State football games have been selected as part of the Ohio Valley Conference Game of the Week package to be aired on ESPN3. The Tigers will be featured in the first two weeks of the eight game conference package.

TSU’s matchup at UT Martin on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 4:00 p.m. will be the first of the two televised contests. The second aired contest will follow a week later as the Tigers host Eastern Illinois in the John Merritt Classic on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 6:00 p.m.

The OVC package is booked for eight weeks, but only the first four weeks are predetermined. The final four weeks will feature Wildcard Selections beginning on Oct. 28 and will be announced roughly 12 days before the contest.

Kevin Ingram, host of "The Wake Up Zone" on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville, will handle play-by-play duties while Bob Belvin, on-air talent and contributor at 100.7 FM/AM 540 (ESPN Clarksville), will provide analysis. The duo has worked together each of the past five years in the league's TV package.

The OVC Football Game of the Week package is part of an overall multiyear agreement with ESPN which was announced in October 2013.

The Big Blue opens the season on Thursday, Aug. 31 at Georgia State, which will also be broadcasted on ESPN3.
