BRENTWOOD, Tenn. --- Lane Clark has been named adidas Ohio Valley Conference Co-Specialist of the Week for his performance in a 32-31 victory at Southeast Missouri. The OVC honor is the eighth for Tennessee State this season, the second for Clark.
Clark kicked a pair of field goals and the game-winning extra point with 16 seconds remaining giving the Tigers a 32-31 victory at Southeast Missouri. Clark connected from 46 yards at the end of the first quarter before drilling a 49-yarder into the wind with one minute to play before halftime.
Clark finished the season ranked fourth nationally in field goals made/game (1.55) in addition to tying for an OVC long field goal of 57 yards. The Hays, Kan. product has connected on four field goals of 50-plus yards this season, accounting for the four longest distances in the OVC and the second through fifth longest in FCS.
The junior kicker also entered the Top-10 on five separate occasions this season for longest field goal in the TSU record book. Throughout the year, Clark recorded the top three and the fifth best. The kick into the wind from 49 yards out made the list as number eight on the all-time list.
