Football Holds Seventh Annual 'Tee Off with the Tigers'

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Despite rainy conditions, the Tennessee State University football team held a successful seventh annual “Tee Off with the Tigers” Golf Tournament at Ted Rhodes Golf Course near the campus of TSU. The event serves as a fundraiser the TSU football program.

A total of 21 teams were involved in the event, showing their support for Big Blue and enjoying a day on the course.

"Big Blue Nation came out in force to support the Tigers today despite the rain," TSU Head Coach Rod Reed said. "I was really pleased with the turnout, even though some teams couldn't make it, we had a lot of fun out here. It just shows how much support we have for Big Blue Nation."

Citizens Savings Bank and Trust posted a team score of 60 to capture third place on the day. With a score of 58 strokes, Arnett and Associations took second place, while South Street 1 earned the team championship with a score of 57.

Following breakfast in the morning, the teams took the course for an 8 a.m. shotgun start in a four-person scramble format. At the conclusion of the 18-hole course, the teams met for barbecue and an awards ceremony.

In addition to the golf on the course, Nashville Sports Radio (WNSR 560 AM and 95.5 FM) carried a live broadcast of The Bill King Show and the Greg Pogue and Big Joe Show in the clubhouse throughout the morning.
