NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee State defenders Anthony Bass and De’Ante Saunders were named to the BOXTOROW All-American Team, on Tuesday.
Even through injuries, Bass notched 36 tackles, 12.5 tackles-for-loss, 7.0 sacks and five quarterback hurries.
The Clarksville native, anchored the OVC’s top total defense (303.2 yards per game) and pass defense (153.3 yards per game) and helped TSU to a No. 4 FCS ranking in sacks per game (3.58).
Saunders was also named First Team All-Ohio Valley Conference after leading the league with five interceptions on the season while also tallying 51 tackles and six pass breakups.
The DeLand, Fla. product’s five picks were the seventh-most by a Tiger in TSU’s 102-year history.
Nick Thrasher was named honorable mention to the team.
