Garlington Honored by CFPA

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee State senior wide receiver Weldon Garlington was named an Honorable Mention National Player of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) for his role in TSU’s, 31-27, victory at Austin Peay.

Garlington helped lead the comeback over the Governors, catching eight passes for 143 yards and three touchdowns, all  of which came in the second half.

The Antioch, Tenn. native leads the Tigers this season with 54 receptions, 795 yards and seven scores.

Always a threat in the return game, the senior is enjoying a breakout senior campaign as a wideout, having set new career-highs in catches, yards and touchdowns.

Garlington and the rest of the Tigers will enjoy a week off before traveling to Murray State on Nov. 22 for the season-finale.
