Football Cracks the Top-15 in Two Major Polls

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State football team is picked in the top-15 by two of the biggest national publications’, Lindy’s and Sporting News, Preseason Polls.

The Tigers came out at No.9 in Lindy’s and are pegged to win the Ohio Valley Conference. According to the publication: “Mike German (43 career TDs, 17 INTs) could be the OVC’s next NFL QB”.

Safety Daniel Fitzpatrick made both magazines’ All-American Teams, while defensive end Anthony Bass is selected to Lindy’s Second Team.

The Sporting News has TSU at No. 13 and behind Jacksonville State in the conference race and chose the Oct. 11 matchup between the Tigers and Gamecocks as the OVC Game to Watch.

Big Blue is coming off of its first postseason victory since 1986 and return the bulk of a defense that ranked sixth nationally in yards per game last season (296.9).
