Tiger Camp: TSU Opens First Practice with Effort

Nashville, Tenn.  - Despite soggy turf outside, Tennessee State took the first day of practice indoors and finished the first session of fall camp.

Overall, Coach Rod Reed was pleased with his team's effort and intensity.

"I thought everyone did a great job in their effort and showed a lot of enthusiasm," said head coach Rod Reed.

The Tigers focused mainly on fundamentals and individual skill sets. TSU also partook in a few offense and defense schemes. However, most of it was limited contact due to helping the student-athletes get acclimated.

"We can coach up everything else," noted reed. You want to see maximum effort. We'll get the technique and execution part down as we go further."

TSU resumes practice on Tuesday morning with a 9:15am start.  All practices during the first two weeks of camp are open to the public. The Tigers are scheduled to practice outside, weather permitting.
