NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee State football will hold their 4th annual "Tee Off With The Tigers" Golf Tournament on May 17 at the historic Ted Rhodes Golf Course with a shotgun start a 8 a.m.

This event is intended to bring together the community in support of the TSU Tiger football program. In its first year, the event accommodated more than 200 people in attendance with alumni, corporate sponsors, community members and TSU administration on hand in support of the Tigers' upcoming season.

"It was a great outing and we received a lot of support from our sponsers, alumni and friends in the community last year and we expect to have a better outing this year," said head coach Rod Reed.

Ted Rhodes Golf Course is situated on the banks of the Cumberland River in North Nashville. The course was originally called Cumberland Golf Course and was originally a nine-hole course. The first nine at Ted Rhodes was built in 1953. In May of 1992, the facility was re-designed and expanded from nine to eighteen holes. The links style eighteen-hole course incorporates lakes and bunkers to provide a pleasurable round for each golfer. The greens at Ted Rhodes are large and offer a big target for your approach shot.  At Ted Rhodes, golf and exercise go hand in hand as it is an easy course to walk.
