"Triple Play Saturday" Promises A Full Day of Tiger Spirit

The Big Blue Tigers will end their spring football drills with their annual spring game on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 2:00p in the “hole” of W.J. Hale Stadium.

The Blue and White football game will be the final component of the TSU athletic department’s “Triple Play Saturday” which also features the Boston-Moon track meet (10a) on the Edward S. Temple Track and TSU’s softball team playing a double-header against OVC foe Austin Peay State (12n) at the Tiger Softball complex.

Boston-Moon Relays (10a- 4p) – The TSU Tigerbelles and Flying Tigers will host athletes from over fifteen (15) schools at the Sixth Annual Boston-Moon Relays. Former TSU Olympian Ralph Boston serves as meet referee. (Edward S. Temple Track)

TSU Softball vs. Austin Peay (12p-3p) – double-header softball game against Ohio Valley Conference foe at the softball complex, Tiger Field.

Spring football game (2p-3:30p) – Blue and White football game ends fifteen spring practice sessions for TSU. On the offense, quarterback Antonio Hefner has returned after ankle surgery last season, running back Javarris Williams (TSU 2nd All-Time Career rusher) is running strong. On the defense, DB Larry Williford is ready to shine in “life after DRC”. Action is in the “hole” at W.J. Hale Stadium.

During halftime, the newly elected Student Government officers, including Mr. and Miss TSU will be presented. The TSU band will be present to provide game-time music.

Athletic Rummage Sale – TSU game (jerseys, warm-ups) paraphernalia will be on sale at Hale stadium.

All events are free and open to the public.
