NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State University's Football program is scheduled to kickoff its season with an annual event to honor 2004-05 senior players on Sept. 2, 2004. The luncheon will be held at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel from 11:30 am - 1:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom. The event opens the season for senior players, and is also an introduction to The Sixth Annual John Merritt Football Classic activities. The coaching staff anticipates the return of 11 seniors this year with leadership on both sides of the football. Operating under the theme of "One Team. One Goal. One Vision." TSU football will be off to a running start. TSU opens the season with fifth year head coach James L. Reese, III at the helm. "Our seniors bring seasoned talent and leadership to the program," said James Reese, head coach of TSU's Football Department. "For the past few years, these young men have been dedicated on the field, we expect them to lead the team and create an environment of success for our program." Coach Reese looks to continue a long-standing tradition of training athletes who are successful both on and off the field. The middle Tennessee community is invited to support TSU football by attending this event that honors 2004-2005 senior players of the team. Tables for this event can be purchased.
