NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State head football coach James Reese and his staff sent 87 players through the Tigers' first practice session Monday afternoon at the Tiger Den. ?For the first day, we did some good things and then there were areas that we know we have to become better,' said the Tigers' head coach. ?The younger guys were a little lost, but they will come around as they become more familiar with the system and the routine.? The practice featured a long session with work in the passing offense and passing defense. The team will hit the field again for a single session on Tuesday. The first two-a-days work is set for Saturday. Reese announced that running back Adam Lindsay will not play with the team this year and attend school, but is expected to rejoin the team next season. In addition, defensive back Jay Ashley did not report back to campus. TSU opens the 2003 season against South Carolina State in the Fifth Annual John Merritt Classic.
