NASHVILLE --- James Dumervil, one of several standouts for the Tennessee State University defensive unit in Saturday's win at Tennessee Tech, has been named OVC Newcomer of the Week. Dumervil recorded four solo, 12 assisted tackles for 16 total in the Tigers' come-from-behind 27-23 win at Tech. He also deflected a pass, and had both a tackle for loss and quarterback sack in the victory. The 6-1, 240-pound Dumervil transferred to TSU from Syracuse. The Miami, Fla., resident helped anchor a TSU defense that held the OVC's top offensive team to 112 yards of total offense. The unit gave up just two yards in the final half. The OVC office announced the weekly honor Sunday afternoon.
