RESULTS

NASHVILLE — The opening day of the Georgia Tech Invitational was ushered in by a light drizzle on the light day of events at George C. Griffin Track on Friday.

The Tigerbelles were heavily represented on day one of the Georgia Tech Invitational with three top-10 finishes and four top-20 finishes.

Amani Taylor placed fifth in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.73 and Mikayla Thompson slid in at ninth with a throw of 46.66m. The Tennessee State women’s track and field team had three student-athletes place in the 100-meter hurdles in a crowded field of 36.

Junior Kyla Jimmar ran a time of 14.42 (9th), Nigeria Starks with 14.58 (12th) and Grenetria Shell came in at 17th with a time of 15.04.

The Flying Tigers flew under the radar on day one. Ashley Bailey placed seventh in the 110-meter dash with a time of 15.04 and Roderick Johnson Jr. placed fourth in the long jump (6.69m).
