FINAL RESULTS

COLUMBIA, S.C. --- The Tennessee State women’s track and field team finished action at the Weems Baskin Invitational on Saturday in Columbia, S.C.

  • In the open triple jump, Gabrielle Younginer took third with one of her best career performances of 11.83m (38’9.75”). Brejhe’ Halls went on to earn sixth in the open triple jump with a mark of 11.64m (38’2.25”).
  • With a distance of 41.60m (136'6"), Amani Taylor picked up a fourth place finish in the open discus. 
  • Mikayla Thompson secured seventh in the shot put (invitational) with a mark of 14.41m (47’3.25”).
  • Angel Horton reached 11.98m (39’3.75”) in the triple jump to earn sixth place in the invitational division. It is her collegiate best for the outdoor season and best since jumping 12.34m (40’6”) at the Hoosier Hills during indoors.
  • Freshmen Kasandra Sanders and Jalyn Bowen took first and second, respectively, in the open high jump on the day. Sanders cleared 1.64m (5’4.25”) for first, followed closely by Bowen, who cleared 1.59m (5’2.5”).
  • Next on the schedule for the Tigerbelles is the Austin Peay Invitational on April 13-14 in Clarksville, Tenn.
