Tigerbelles Continue Impressive Indoor Season at Thundering Herd Invitational

SATURDAY RESULTS

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State women’s track and field team turned in good performances in field events and on the track on day two of the Thundering Herd Invitational on Saturday at the Jeff Small Track inside the Chris Cline Complex.

Freshman Mikayla Thompson was TSU’s top finisher on the day, earning second place in the shot put thanks to a distance of 14.57m (47’9.75”). Senior Daimer Gordon also had a strong showing in the shot put, picking up a fourth-place finish with a mark of 12.79m (41’11.5”).

On the track, TSU’s 4x400m team comprised of Christian Pryor, Destiny Pennington, Grenetria Shell and Alexia King secured third place in 3:54.31 – the second-best time in the Ohio Valley Conference this indoor season.

Other top finishes for the Tigerbelles came from Pryor in the 800m (4th place – 2:16.62) and Brejhe’ Halls in the triple jump (5th place – 11.86m (38’11”)).

Next up for TSU is a trip to Murfreesboro, Tenn. for the MTSU Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 3.
