STARTING LINE: Tennessee State track and field All-American Amber Hughes (Atlanta, Ga.) will make her fifth NCAA National Championship appearance, competing in the triple jump on Saturday, June 10. One of the most decorated Tigerbelles in recent history, Hughes will look to earn her fifth All-America honors. She will be one of 24 student-athletes from across the nation competing in the triple jump.

ROAD TO EUGENE: Hughes qualified for nationals in the triple jump thanks to a distance of 13.09m (42’11.5”) for 10th place at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Lexington, Ky. on May 27. The distance was tied for 20th between the two preliminary rounds. Hughes’ personal record triple jump distance of 13.62m (44’8.25”) from the North Florida Invitational in early April is the seventh best in the nation this season.
NCAA EXPERIENCE: Amber Hughes will be competing at the NCAA National Championships for the fifth time in her career. It will be her fourth appearance for the triple jump.

USTFCCCA ALL-AMERICA HONORS: Finishing in the top eight will earn Hughes First Team All-America honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Second Team All-America accolades go to those who finish ninth through 16th, while finishers ranging from 17-24 will be named Honorable Mention All-America.
