BRENTWOOD, Tenn. --- Amber Hughes (Atlanta, Ga.) earned adidas Ohio Valley Conference Co-Track Athlete of the Week and Daimer Gordon (Ellenwood, Ga.) took home adidas OVC Co-Field Athlete of the week for the Tennessee State women's track and field team, the OVC office announced on Wednesday.
Hughes secured third place in the 60m hurdles at the Music City Challenge with a personal-record time of 8.24. Her time is the best in the OVC this year and is tied for 23rd in the nation. Hughes also earned a 10th-place finish in the 60m with time of 7.54. It was a personal best time and ranks first in the OVC.
Gordon recorded a pair of personal records at the Music City Challenge. She earned 20th place in the weight throw with a toss of 57’09”, which is the third best in the OVC this season. She also recorded a distance of 41’11.50” in the shot put, good for 8th in the league this year.
Next up for the Tigerbelles is the OVC Indoor Championship on Feb. 24-25 in Charleston, Ill.
