STARTING LINE: The Tigerbelles return to the state of Florida to take part in the Pepsi Florida Relays on March 31-April 2. TSU will be competing against some of the top teams in the nation in an event that will air on the SEC Network.
TV COVERAGE: Day two and three action can be seen live on the SEC Network and the Watch ESPN app.
SCHEDULE: Competition gets underway on Thursday at 2 p.m. Action will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
THE FIELD: Student-athletes from around the nation head to Gainesville for the Pepsi Florida Relays. Entries are from Florida, Syracuse, North Carolina, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Louisville and Ole Miss, among others.
LAST TIME OUT: First Team All-Americans Clairwin Dameus (Boynton Beach, Fla.) and Amber Hughes (Atlanta, Ga.) captured first place finishes at the Black & Gold Invitational at Vanderbilt on March 25-26. Dameus’ long jump distance of 6.17m (20’3”) was her best for an outdoor meet since the 2014 season. Hughes won the 100m hurdles by clocking in at 13.46.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Senior Clairwin Dameus (Boynton Beach, Fla.) earned OVC Field Athlete of the Week on March 30 for the first time this outdoor season. She earned the award twice during the indoor portion of the season.
UP NEXT: The TSU women’s track and field team will compete in the APSU Invitational in Clarkesville, Tenn. on April 15-16.
