Dameus Wins OVC Indoor Championship MVP for Third-Straight Year

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - For the third year in a row, Tennessee State track and field standout Clairwin Dameus (Boynton Beach, Fla.) was recognized for her performance at the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship by earning Championship MVP honors.  The award is voted on by OVC Coaches.

Since the award began in 2005, Dameus is the only woman to win the award more than once.

At the 2016 OVC Indoor Championship, the senior helped the Tigerbelles capture the team championship by earning individual golds in the pentathlon, long jump and as a member of the 4x400m relay team. She added silver medals in the 55m and 55m hurdles.

Dameus will cap her indoor season by competing in the pentathlon and the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 11-12 at Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.
