STARTING SERVE: In its spring home opener, the Tennessee State women’s tennis team will host Rhodes for the Lynx’s first dual match of the spring at Curry Tennis Center on Vanderbilt University’s campus Saturday, Feb. 3 at 5 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: The Tigers (4-0) are coming off of a week break after shutting out the Mississippi Valley State Devils in its spring opening weekend in Memphis, Tenn.
Big Blue swept MVSU taking the doubles point each day and clinching all six singles points. Freshman Morgan Cage won her first dual match as a Tiger, scoring eight points for TSU across all four days.
SERIES INFORMATION: The blue and white cruised to an 8-1 win over the Lynx last season. The Tigers took the doubles point after Abhilahsa Vishwanath and Pragati won 8-1, while Ani Popiashvili and Phyllicia Hemphill won 8-3 at No. 3. TSU continued its dominate play and swept the singles matches, allowing the Lynx to take only one game.
UP NEXT: The tennis team will compete against Southeastern Conference leaders in Vanderbilt Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Curry Tennis Center at 9 am, and again at noon.
