Women's Tennis Takes on Arkansas Pine Bluff on Saturday

SETTING THE STAGE: The Tigers look to build on a strong fall season with the spring opener on Saturday, Feb. 6, versus Arkansas Pine Bluff at the Hadley Park Bubble.

WINS LEADERS: Through three dual matches and a tournament in the fall, Taylor Patterson (Munford, Tenn.) leads the team with seven singles victories with a 7-1 record. In doubles, the all-freshman pairing of Ani Popiashvili (Tbilisi, Georgia) and Pragati Natraj (Bangalore, India) is a perfect 7-0.

LAST TIME OUT: TSU swept Christian Brothers, 7-0, on Nov. 6 in the fall finale. The Tigers cruised through doubles with three wins to take the point then won all six singles matches in straight-set fashion.

ABOUT ARKANSAS PINE BLUFF:  The Golden Lions are 0-5 on the season, most recently falling twice to Ole Miss on Jan. 23. The young Arkansas Pine Bluff team features five players, two of whom are freshmen.

UP NEXT: TSU will have an off week before traveling north to face Dayton on Feb. 19 and Northern Kentucky on Feb. 20.
