NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State men's and women's tennis teams will seek to make solid progress in an upcoming spring break trip to Florida next week. Coach Gerald Robinson's Tigers and Lady Tigers will center their week in the Daytona Beach area where they will play host Bethune-Cookman and nearby Stetson University. The teams will also go against other collegiate teams on their spring break trips. Along with the Florida teams, the Tigers will play matches against teams from the east coast and other areas who also made the trek to the Sunshine State for spring break. Both TSU teams will hope the preparation of the week will pay dividends when they return to Ohio Valley Conference play next weekend. The teams will host Samford University next Saturday at the Hadley Park Courts. The TSU women's team had several competitive flights, but lost a 6-1 decision to Southeast Missouri on Friday. No. 1 player Danette Rachel posted a straight-set 6-2, 6-2 win in her flight. The men's teanm will be returning to match play in Florida for the first time since a 7-0 defeat to cross-town opponent Belmont on Wednesday.
