Natalie Spicer (83-89-80=252) led the Tigers in her final round for the Big Blue. Spicer’s tee shot went through the fairway and came to rest against the cart path. The senior highlighted her day knocking a 6-iron from 150 yards out on her second shot to three feet of the flag. Spicer converted the short putt for her lone birdie of the day.
Morgan Rood (83-82-84=249) used a 4-hybrid on the par-4, 2nd, which ended up on a downhill slope. The freshman pulled out her 9-iron and stuck her approach shot to 12 feet of the hole and sank the putt for birdie. Rood's performance at the OVC Championships marked her best 54-hole score of her career.
Savannah Szozda and Haleigh Riley saved their best rounds for last as the posted the final two scoring cards for the Tigers. Szozda (99-89-86=274) got up-and-down on the par-4, 10th, after her hit second shot found the greens left side bunker. The freshman punched out of the sand to five feet of the hole, before draining the putt for par.
Riley (92-95-89=276) drained a 30 foot putt for birdie on No. 10 after her second shot found the front of the green.
Paige Harlin (75-84-96=255) fired a non-scoring 96 during the final round. Harlin hit a 3-wood to 60 yards of the green on her second shot on the par-5, 3rd, and followed with a gap wedge to six feet of the pin. The sophomore completed the hole dropping the putt for birdie.
Harlin would run into a bit of hard luck on the next hole, the par-3, 4th. Her tee shot found the edge of the cup, just missing a hole in one, before bouncing off and landing 25 yards from the pin. Harlin finished with a double bogey on the hole.
