Women's Golf Returns to Action

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State women’s golf team will begin the spring portion of its schedule on Friday with a duel matchup with Lipscomb. The two teams will tee-off at 11:30 a.m. at McCabe Golf Course.

The two teams faced off on Oct. 30 to close out the fall season. The Bison claimed the previous contest 305-318. On the day, the Tigers fired a program record low 318, besting the preceding low by five strokes.

Leading the charge for the Tigers that day was junior Natalie Spicer who shot a 2-over, 74, second only to Lipscomb’s Samantha Griffith who earned individual honors with an Even, 72. The score for Spicer was a career low and tied for second in the TSU career record book for lowest round by an individual and the best since Jamie Pierce posted the score in 2010.

Spicer will be joined by seniors Kelly Merkel and Sarah Needleman, along with sophomore Imani Stingley and freshman Paige Harlin. Freshman Arianna Herrington is schedule to play in individual competition.
