Women's Golf Looks to Improve on Program Record
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After a week off of play the women’s golf team returns action at the SIUE Double Tree Invitational. The two-day event begins on Monday, Sept. 22 at the Par-72, 6,070 yard Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville, Ill.
The Tigers look to build on their performance at the MSU Drake Invitational two weeks ago. TSU shot the teams best round in school history during the Monday morning session. The Tigers carded a 335 and was led by freshman Erica Edwards who shot a 6-over, 78.
Head coach Parrish McGrath will take a full squad to compete in the SIU Edwardsville competition. Sophomore Amelia Dap will take to the course for her first competition of the season and will join fellow classmates Laura Bremer, Kelly Merkel and Sarah Needleman, along with freshman Erica Edwards and Natalie Spicer.
The Tigers will be a part of a 10 team field, which includes Ashford, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, IPFW, Lipscomb, UNO, Valparaiso, Western Illinois and the host, SIUE.
The Invitational is scheduled for 36-holes, with each day consisting of one 18-hole round. Both days are scheduled for an 8:00am shotgun start.
