Women's golf hosts Tennessee State Fall Classic

Nashville, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State University women's golf team will host the Tennessee State University Fall Classic, Sept. 25-27 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The tournament will be held at the Morningstar Golf Club in Indianapolis, Ind. Morningstar is a championship course with a beautiful lakes and a dynamic landscape. The course, established in 1991, offers grand vistas of magnificent fairways and far horizons and a wonderful variety of holes.

The 36-hole tournament will feature four teams including Chicago State, Valparaiso, Marion University and host Tennessee State.

The teams will play a 72-par, 6,000-yard course, following a practice round on Sunday.  Round one will be played on Monday with the second round taking place on Tuesday.

Both days will begin with a 9 a.m. tee-time.

Last time out, Tennessee State finished in 12th place at the Screaming Eagles Golf Classic in Evansville, Ind. Jamie Pierce led TSU for the second consecutive tournament as she posted an opening round score of 87 before carding an 80 in the second round. She finished in a tie for 29th place with a (+23) 167.

As a team, TSU finished with a two-round score of 703 in the 18-field tournament. The Tigers carded a 364 in the opening round before improving with a score of 339 in round two.
