Evansville, Ind. --- The Tennessee State University women's golf team claimed a 12th place finish at the Screaming Eagle Classic on Monday evening at the Cambridge Golf Course.
TSU finished with a two-round score of 703 in the 18-field tournament. The Tigers carded a 364 in the opening round before improving with a score of 339 in round two.
Jamie Pierce led TSU for the second consecutive tournament as she posted an opening round score of 87 before carding an 80 in the second round. She finished in a tie for 29th place with a (+23) 167.
Marie Black (T41) shot 93 in round one and bounced back to card a six-over-par 78 in the final round. Sara Shoufler (T45) finished with a 173 (87-86) while Bria Norris (192) and Mya Billingsley (200) rounded out the scorers for TSU.
The University of Indianapolis claimed the title with a 39-over-par 615. Drury University (618) finished second while Missouri St. Louis placed third (638).
TSU returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 25-27, when they host the Tennessee State Fall Classic in Indianapolis, Ind.
