Nashville --- The Tennessee State University women's golf team will head to the CBU Classic hosted by Christian Brothers in Memphis, Tenn.
The tournament will take place at the TPC Southwind golf course March, 21-22.
TPC Southwind's par-70, 7,244-yard championship layout serves as the centerpiece to the PGA TOUR's only private golf club in the state of Tennessee. The club boasts full-service golf, a practice facility, dining options, and the personalized service and privileges that have become synonymous with the PGA TOUR's acclaimed TPC Network of premier clubs.
The tournament will feature teams from the University of Arkansas-Monticello, Harding University, Hannibal -LaGrange College, University of Southern Indiana and Lambuth University.
TSU comes into the tournament led by Jamie Pierce with an 11-over-par average of 82.6. Laura Brown has a scoring average of 90 while Marie Black rounds out the top three scorers with an average of 94.
The tournament is scheduled for an 11-a.m. shotgun start on Monday with Tuesday's tee-time slated for 7:30 a.m.
Following the CBU Classic, the women's golf team will participate in the Alabama A&M Spring Classic. The tournament, hosted by Alabama A&M, will be held March 27-29, in Scottsboro, Alabama.
