Old Hickory, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State University women's golf team finished eighth at the rain-shortened Belmont Spring Invitational.

The invitational, which wrapped up at Old Hickory Country Club in Old Hickory, Tenn. on Tuesday, was shortened after severe storms suspended first round play on Monday morning after only nine holes. On Tuesday, officials were forced to shorten the tournament to an 18 hole event due to damage of the Old Hickory course.

Rounding out the scorers for TSU were Mya Billingsley and Jatoia Potts. Billingsley carded a 100 and a tie for 46th while Potts finished in 48th with a 108 overall.

Middle Tennessee State captured the team title posting a score of 305 on Tuesday placing all five of their golfers in the Top 10. UAB finished nine spots behind for second with host Belmont (321) finishing in third place.

The women will return to action this week, April 8-10, for the Eastern Kentucky Colonels Classic.
