Savannah, Ga. --- The Tennessee State University women's golf team concluded their fall season this past weekend placing 5th at the annual Savannah State Golf Invitational held at the Henderson Golf Club in Savannah, Ga.
The Tigers played two rounds at the par 71, 5,745-yard course carding an overall score of 783 (388-395).
The women were led by Jamie Pierce who finished top ten placing in 7th with an overall score of 165 (75-90). Pierce finishes the fall season playing in six rounds of three events with a 82.3 per stroke average and 11-over-par.
Bria Norris (91-96) and Laura Brown (95-92) both tied in 18th place with an overall score of 187. Brown ends the season with a 94.5 per stroke average, 18-over-par, while Norris finishes with a 94.5 and a 23-over-par average.
Shatara Williams rounded out the scores for TSU at 244 with a 127 in the first round and a 117 in the second. Williams closes out the season with a 138.3 per stroke average (67-over-par).
Jatoia Potts played in the first round with a score of 127 but withdrew from the second round due to medical reasons.
Hampton University repeated as the tournament winner, finishing with a 654 total (322-332) with Bethune-Cookman and Alabama State rounding out the top 3 teams.
