Birmingham, Ala. --- The Tennessee State University women's golf team finished 16th at the BSC Southern Shootout hosted by Birmingham Southern College.
The tournament, held at the Highland Park Golf Course, featured a field of 17 teams.
Improving from their last match scoring a team overall of 940, Tennessee State shot a tournament total of 749 after carding an opening round of 374 on Sunday and a final round of 375 on Monday.
On top for the Tigers was Jamie Pierce who finished tied for 43rd carding a 166 (81-85). Laura Brown registered a 173 (86-87) while finishing 58th and Bria Norris followed in the 79th spot with a 190 (100-90). Jatoia Potts rounded out the scorers for TSU with a 220 (107-113) and a 87th place finish.
The tournament winner, Morehead State, finished 1 stroke better than second-place Shorter University, carding a 601 (296-305). Birmingham Southern placed third with a 612.
TSU will close out its fall season at the Savannah State Fall Classic November 5-7 hosted by Savannah State in Savannah, Ga.
