Women's golf concludes play at EKU Classic

Richmond, Ky. --- The Tennessee State University women's golf team wrapped up the weekend  at the EKU Lady Colonel Classic at the Arlington Golf Course. Due to a couple of untimely injuries, two golfers had to withdraw and thus TSU was not able to finish.

The two-day, three round tournament was hosted by Eastern Kentucky at the par-72, 5,801 yards course from April 9-10.

Due to a weather delay, second round action on Saturday was suspended due to darkness and was concluded on Sunday morning, prior to third round play.

Marie Black (92-87-85) finished in 68th place to lead TSU for the weekend carding a 264 overall. Bria Norris followed in 69th posting a 272 while Mya Billingsley rounded out the scores for the women registering a 278 to finish in 70th.

Jamie Pierce and Jatoia Potts were forced to withdraw from the tournament due to injury.

The Tigers will have the next two weeks to prepare for the OVC Conference Championship hosted by TSU, which is set for April 25-28 in Dickson, Tenn.
