Women's golf notches fourth place finish at CBU Classic

Memphis, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State University women's golf team picked up a fourth place finish at the CBU Classic hosted by Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tenn.

Tennessee State carded rounds of 391 and 386 for a fourth place finish in the tournament that was held at the TPC Southwind Golf Course.

Jamie Pierce led all TSU scorers with a score of 174 after rounds of 90 and 82. She finished in fourth place while Marie Black also turned in a top 20 performance with a score of 187 (93-94). Pierce now has three top ten finishes on the year.

Bria Norris carded a 198 (104-94) while Mya Billingsley recorded a 227 (104-123). Jatoia Potts rounded out the scorers for TSU with a 232 (116-116).

The University of Southern Indiana won the CBU Classic title while Harding University placed second. Host Christian Brothers notched a third finish to round out the top three. Hannibal LaGrange placed just behind TSU while Arkansas-Monticello and Lambuth concluded the field.

TSU returns to action, March 27-29, when the team participates in the Alabama A&M Spring Classic.
