Nashville, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State University women's golf team kicks-off their 2010 spring season on Monday, March 1 at the Murray State Spring Invitational. The two-day event will be held at the Miller Memorial Golf Course with the final round slated for Tuesday, March 2.
The Murray State Spring Invitational is set to tee off at 8:00 a.m.
The Miller Memorial Golf Course, a par 71 and 6,592-yard course, will host six teams.
Sharing the field with TSU includes Western Kentucky and Lipscomb. TSU will also take on the following three Ohio Valley Conference members: host, Murray State, Austin Peay State, and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Jamie Pierce and Marie Black leads TSU in tournament average. Pierce finished the fall season with an average of 82.2 and 10-over-par. Black posted an average of 95.4 and 24-over-par to finish out the first half of the season.
The team will return to action from March 14-16 at the Samford University Intercollegiate Tournament in Oneonta, Ala.
