Stewart Wins Alabama A&M Golf Classic,

Leads Women's Golf to First Place Finish 

Scottsboro, Ala. --- Three Tigers finished in the top five, including senior Danielle Stewart's top finish, to lead the women's golf team to first in the final standings at the Alabama A&M Golf Classic on Tuesday (3/31). The team garners their first team win this season. 

The Tigers shot 366 overall in one round played at the Goose Pond Colony Plantation Golf Course in Scottsboro, Ala.

Stewart shot 14-over-par for 86 to finish atop the leaderboard. Freshmen Marie Black and Marissa Edge finished back-to-back in the standings respectively. Black finished fourth with a 19-over par for 91 and Edge followed in fifth place shooting 93, 21-over par.

Stewart, Black and Edge received medals and were named to the All-Tournamnet Team.

Senior Genisis Fitzgerald tallied the eighth spot with a 96, 14-over par, and freshman Mya Billingsley shot 110 +38 to finish 11th.

Next up, the golf team will host the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate at the Hermitage Golf Course in Nashville, Tenn. beginning Sunday, April 5th and ending with the final round on Tuesday, April 7th.
