Golf Finishes in 17th at Larry Nelson Collegiate Invitational

Braselton, Ga.--- The Tennessee State University women’s golf team finished 17th at the inaugural Larry Nelson Collegiate Invitational.

 

The tournament, hosted by Kennesaw State University, in partnership with the Gwinnett Sports Commission, featured 17 schools including Ohio Valley Conference members Samford and Austin Peay. Local Nashville rival Belmont also participated in the event.

 

LaToya Moppins recorded a 51-over par 264 to lead TSU while Danielle Stewart carded a 284. Genesis Fitzgerald finished the tournament with a score of 300 while Mary Brigance tallied a 334.

 

UT Chattanooga won the tournament while the University of South Alabama grabbed second place. Samford rounded out the top three as Belmont followed in fifth place. Austin Peay managed to pick up an 11th place finish.
