NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State women's golf team has added two student-athletes for the 2003-04 campaign, TSU head coach Glenn Steimling announced. Leslie Scarborough from Simpson, Ill., is a junior college transfer from John A. Logan College in Carterville, Ill. and Nicole Winn is a high school signee from Grand Ledge (Mich.) High School. The student-athletes are the first preseason signees for the program that began this past year. ?We are pleased to have Leslie and Nicole join our program,? said Steimling, who started the program last year. ?They will have an immediate impact in our program.? Scarborough was a two-year player at Logan and placed in the top-25 at the National Junior College Association National Championships this past May. She averaged in the low 80's and led her team to four other top-five tournament finishes. Winn was four-year starter at Grand Ledge and was named all-state in Division I in 2002 as well as been named All-Area Golfer for the Year as selected by the Lansing State Journal. She won the 2002 Capital Area Conference Championship with a winning score of 74. She qualified second in the regional with a score of 76 and was fifth in the 2003 Division I Michigan State Championship. She averaged 78.2 strokes in tournament play this past year. The TSU women's team will play its first complete fall schedule in 2003. The Lady Tigers will begin their fall season in Tennessee Tech's Invitational, Sept. 15-16 at Ironwood Golf Course in Cookeville.
