NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State women’s cross country team experienced many personal bests at the Belmont Opener on Saturday. As a team, TSU finished sixth and was led by Kenyana Hampton.
The sophomore placed 30th in the 91 runner field as she ran her best race on the Percy Warner course in a time of 20:40.3. The time was just under two minutes faster than her time as a freshman in 2014.
“Kenyana ran a really good race today,” said Coach Chandra Cheeseborough. “She was considerably ahead of her time from last year. We will continue to add mileage to our training and build to get better as the season progresses."
