Tigerbelles pick up a pair at FAMU Relays

Tallahassee, Fla. - The Tigerbelles wrapped up the 61st FAMU Relays with Tennessee State University picking up two victories in the field events on Saturday at the Pete Griffin Track and Field Complex.

Daniecce Ward and Martinique Guice picked up wins in the high jump and long jump events.

Ward captured her second collegiate victory in the high jump winning the event with a vault of 5"0.75' (1.57m). Guice took the long jump nearly a foot better than the runner up with a mark of 18"02.50" (5.55m). She extends her win total in the event to seven in her career.

TSU also finished with third place awards in the 400m, 4x400m and 4x800m relays.

Ashley Taylor sparked her outdoor career in the 400m with a time of 58.06. She then joined teammates Breanna Adams, Kya Riley, and Gabrielle Todd on the 4x400m to cross the line at 3:54.73.

The 4x800m relay team of Adams, Andreanna Rowe, Charita Harris and Brittney Washington made their outdoor debut in the event completing the event with a time of 10:10.73.

The Tigerbelles will continue outdoor competition when they head to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the Morehouse Relays on Saturday, March 19, on the Edwin Moses Track.
